The permanent members of the Governing Council are eminent educationists, administrators, businessmen, etc. and they have come together to promote Institute of Information and Management Sciences in 1995. Since then IIMS has been working incessantly in imparting best management education and teaching to the future managers of the business in the country and abroad.

 

The brief  biodata of the members of Governing Council  are given below :

 

(1) Dr. Ramakant- Dr. Ramakant, who is the President of the Governing Council of the Institute/Society, is a retired I.A.S. officer and also has been member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly for two terms after he was superannuated from the I.A.S. He graduated in Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology Pilani, in the year, 1953 and thereafter secured post graduate training and diploma from Germany under Indo-German Co-Operation Scheme in the year 1956-57. During the Government Service he was not only Chairman and Managing Director of a number of Public Sector Corporations including Rajasthan Industrial and Investment Corporations and handled various administrative and development departments of the State Government of Rajasthan. He has been Collector and District Magistrate of the three very important districts of Rajasthan namely Bikaner, Bhilwara and Sawai Madhopur. All through his carrier he has been an educationist.

(2)  Shri R.J. Majithiya- Shri R.J. Majithiya is the Vice President in the Governing Council of the Institute/Society. After he was superannuated from the I.A.S. he worked also as Adviser to the Governor during the President’s Rule in Rajasthan. He also handled various Industrial development, Economic and Education departments during his administrative carrier. He is also the member of the Executive Committee/ Governing Council of the other Management/Engineering Institutions.

 

(3) Shri Rajendra Sharma- He is the Hon. Secretary in the Governing Council / Society and  the senior advocate of the Rajasthan High Court. Before he was superannuated he was the District and Sessions Judge in the State of Rajasthan. He has thorough legal knowledge.

 

(4) Mrs. Rashmi Sharma- She is the Treasure in the Governing Council/ Society. She has done Post Graduation (M.A. in Sociology) from the University of Rajasthan and is also working in the other educational Institutions.

 

(5)Shri R.L. Toshniwal- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He is an Industrialist and is managing a large group of textile Industries. He is the Chairman of the Banswara Syntax Ltd., Banswara, and Rajasthan.

 

(6)Shri Sanjay Sharma- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He possesses MBA degree and also working as Director (Administration) in the Institute.

 

(7)Shri K.C. Kasliwal- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He is retired from the post of Superintendent Engineer from the Public Works Department, Government of Rajasthan. He had constructed a number of Educational Buildings and is a top class designer of complicated multistory structures. He is working as consultant in the National Level Projects.

 

(8)Shri Rajendra Jain- He is the Member in the Governing Council/ Society. He had been a very Senior Officer in the I.A.S. belonging to 1957 batch. He has also worked as Vice Chancellor of the Jai Narayan Vyas University, Jodhpur.

 

(9) Dr. B.N. Swami- He is the Member in the Governing Council/ Society. He was professor in the Agriculture University, Udaipur. He had written a number of books and is a famous Soil Scientist.

 

(10) Shri M.L. Sharma- He is the Member in the Governing Council/ Society. He is an advocate and income tax practicenor and has been elected President of the Association of income tax practicenors. He is connected with most of the educational institutes in Jaipur.

 

(11) Shri Raj Singh Nirwan- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He has been Chairman of the National Textiles Corporation. All through his carrier he occupied very high positions both in the National Public Sector undertakings and private sector Industries.

 

(12) Dr. K.K. Gaur- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He is an eminent Professor of Economics in the Lal Bahadur Shastri College, Jaipur. The College is more than fifty years old.

 

(13) Shri Hanuman Prasad- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He superannuated from a very senior administrative position in the Govt. of Rajasthan and thereafter he has been the Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission.

 

(14) Dr. G.D. Sharma- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He has been a very eminent professor of the University of Rajasthan and Professor and Director of various Management Institutes. He has written a number of books on Management topics. He has also been fellow of the AICTE for couple of years.

 

(15) Shri B.G. Gupta- He is the Member in the Governing Council / Society. He is an income tax practicenor and a Chartered Accountant. He is connected with more than hundred Business and Industrial firms in the State.

Policy making & financial control is under the charge of Governing Council but in the absence of Board meeting powers of the Board rests in the President. The decision taken by the President shall be conveyed to the Board in its next meeting.
